January 30, 2019 - Housing for temporary, nonimmigrant workers (H-2A)


  • Sponsor: City of Yakima and Yakima Valley Conference of Governments
  • Purpose: The H-2A temporary agricultural program establishes a means for agricultural employers who anticipate a shortage of domestic workers to bring non-immigrant foreign workers to the U.S. to perform agricultural labor or services of a temporary or seasonal nature. The purpose of the forum is to determine if this issue is a concern of other cities in the Yakima Valley, and to explore a regional approach to locating H2A worker housing.

  • Purpose: The Homeless Network of Yakima County Affordable Housing Committee is comprised of multiple service providers and members of the community who are associated with the development, management, and access to affordable housing in Yakima County.   The committee will assist in determining gaps in the housing continuum of care and make recommendations to the Community on how to best close those gaps in relation to the current Homeless and Housing Needs Assessment for all residents of Yakima County.  To learn more about this committee - go here.
