November 20, 2019 - Affordable Housing Committee


  • Sponsor: Homeless Network of Yakima County - Committee Meeting
  • Purpose: The Homeless Network of Yakima County Affordable Housing Committee is comprised of multiple service providers and members of the community who are associated with the development, management, and access to affordable housing in Yakima County.   The committee will assist in determining gaps in the housing continuum of care and make recommendations to the Community on how to best close those gaps in relation to the current Homeless and Housing Needs Assessment for all residents of Yakima County.  To learn more about this committee - go here.

November 21, 2019 - IRIS Committee


  • Sponsor: Homeless Network of Yakima County - Committee Meeting
  • Purpose: Inter-agency Resources for Individuals with Significant Behavioral Health Needs (IRIS) is a system-wide approach to ensure no one sleeps outside by assessing individuals prior to entry into the Emergency Shelter system, identifying alternative placements into housing where they will be successful, and assisting them in existing the Emergency Shelter system via individualized, multi-agency case management.  This collaboration will also provide a Community of Practice for the County’s Emergency Shelters resulting in improved Community Standards and increased capacity.  The assessment process will also result in data collection for outcome measurement and program evaluation

November 14, 2019 - Community Engagement Committee


  • Sponsor: Homeless Network of Yakima County - Committee Meeting
  • Purpose: The purpose of the Community Engagement Committee is to provide for strategic community interactions between the Homeless Network of Yakima County (Network) and the local and extended community through conversations that create information relative to the mission and vision of the Network. The outcomes of that engagement will be to forge lasting partnerships with the Network in addressing issues related to homelessness and housing.

Homeless Network of Yakima County

November 27, 2019 - Youth Coalition


  • Sponsor: Homeless Network of Yakima County - Committee Meeting
  • Purpose: The Youth Coalition is currently working on developing policy recommendations for serving “mature minors” in shelters and administrating an extreme winter weather shelter for young adults. The Youth Coalition will be conducting community wide planning as an awardee of the Anchor Community Initiative from A Way Home Washington.
