The goal of the Homeless Network of Yakima County Public Policy committee is to provide technical expertise to local and state elected officials while staying informed about policy issues that impact housing and homelessness. This will be achieved by the following:

  • Assisting in guiding the administration of the public initiatives such as the 1/10th of 1 percent Affordable Housing Sales Tax
  • Assisting in evaluating and advocating for upcoming legislative decisions that are specific to local needs related to housing and homelessness
  • Interfacing with statewide agencies such as WLIHA and WSHFC in localizing statewide initiatives that fit with our community
  • Connect with all local representatives including City Councils, Board of County Commissioners, and Statewide representatives around issues relating to housing and homelessness

The Committee meets on the second Monday of the month at 3pm.  For more information, see our Events page.
